Childcare Partnership
Vision Statement
To ensure high quality, affordable and accessible childcare
for children aged 0-14 in every neighbourhood in the Partnership
area.
What we have achieved to date;
- Encouraged the development of child care
in isolated rural areas with the introduction of a mobile
toy and book library in Dalriada Sure Start.
- A development worker has been appointed and
is setting up a forum in the Mid-Ulster area. A network
of parent groups has been established
- A programme of training is being delivered
on an ongoing basis.
- Northern
Childcare Partnership web site has been launched.
- A newsletter is published frequently.
- A booklet for parents “Choices in Childcare”
has been distributed.
- The funding guide has been updated and distributed.
What we plan to do during 2005-08 includes;
- Taking forward the objectives for 2005/06
outlined in the Second Annual Review of the Second Childcare
Plan.
- Further development of locality based consultation
arrangements with parent groups and others.
- Roll out of the training programme funded
through Tranche III of Peace II.
- Continuing to monitor and support local
Sure Start projects.
- Supporting early years groups in addressing
sustainability issues as short-term funding streams cease.
- Continuing to promote good practice within
the early years sector.
- Producing the Partnership’s third
Childcare Plan.
