Vision Statement

To ensure high quality, affordable and accessible childcare for children aged 0-14 in every neighbourhood in the Partnership area.

What we have achieved to date;

Encouraged the development of child care in isolated rural areas with the introduction of a mobile toy and book library in Dalriada Sure Start.
A development worker has been appointed and is setting up a forum in the Mid-Ulster area. A network of parent groups has been established
A programme of training is being delivered on an ongoing basis.
Northern Childcare Partnership web site has been launched.
A newsletter is published frequently.
A booklet for parents “Choices in Childcare” has been distributed.
The funding guide has been updated and distributed.

What we plan to do during 2005-08 includes;

Taking forward the objectives for 2005/06 outlined in the Second Annual Review of the Second Childcare Plan.
Further development of locality based consultation arrangements with parent groups and others.
Roll out of the training programme funded through Tranche III of Peace II.
Continuing to monitor and support local Sure Start projects.
Supporting early years groups in addressing sustainability issues as short-term funding streams cease.
Continuing to promote good practice within the early years sector.
Producing the Partnership’s third Childcare Plan.
