Vision Statement

The Information Sub group plays a key role in the Children’s Services Planning process. Systems have been developed to ensure Sub groups have the information they require for planning.

What we have achieved to date;

Statistics have been collected which describe the children in the Northern area. This information has been published in a report called the “Needs Indicator Profile” which is available on request.
Each of the other Sub groups has an information representative who assists the group to identify the statistics they need for planning.
A regional group has been set up to share developments and make sure the same information is collected across Northern Ireland.
The launch of this Children’s Services Planning web site.

What we plan to do during 2005-08 includes;

Further development of the information gathered for planning.
Publication of an updated version of the “Needs Indicator Profile” which provides a public copy of all the information gathered.
Recommending appropriate measurement indicators for the outcomes mentioned on page 9.
Monitoring new developments in technology and information gathering.
Group members being involved in the development of the Register of Children with a Disability.
Monitoring the implementation of the new community information system PCIS.
