Children In The Northern Area

There are 110,604 children under the age of 18 living in the 10 District Councils within the NACYPC area. These children live in 56,978 households, 11,145 of which are lone parent households and 9% of which are headed by a lone male.

At 31 March 2004, 543 children were looked after by a Health and Social Services Trust, 62 in residential accommodation and 333 in foster care. At the same date 216 children were registered on the Child Protection Register.
